Today is July 6, 2011 and it's been one hell of a year. So much has happened. I have taken on more than a dozen new clients, which allowed me to more than double my prices, and I have learned so much in just a short period of time. But something else has begun to take shape as the year slowly turns into Summer. I have decided to take on a new venture, which consists of a company that creates 100% unique niche marketing packages. And so far, it's been incredibly successful.

I've never mentioned this publicly before, but I was part of a joint venture that had tremendous possibility. At first, this client was like any other client. He wanted squeeze page copy that converts, a video script, an e-report to give away on the squeeze page, an autoresponder series for the subscribers once they signed up, and even articles to help promote the squeeze page once it's live. It was a complete package and all hopeful business owners had to do was purchase the package, purchase a domain, put it online, plug in the autoresponders and that's it. Then, just submit the articles to directories and traffic starts coming in. When the autoresponders go out at pre-specified times, the business pretty much runs on autopilot.
This client of mine ordered three of these packages. When those were finished, he said he wanted to go into business with me. He offered me 50% of the business if I would provide the content. He would provide everything else and we would start a membership site offering these PLR video squeeze page packages. It sounded great so I said yes. We signed a contract and everything.
Now, many will point out that this offer of half of the business, when the guy didn't really know me from Adam, should have been a huge red flag. And I admit I jumped into it without questioning too much. But at the same time, at that point in my career I didn't have any prospects that looked much better. I would be writing anyway, and this sounded like a lucrative venture. Plus, I'd spoken with this man on the phone and via Skype and was fairly certain I could trust him.
Not long after we signed the contract, however, I lost word of him. I had completed all 11 of the packages, and then he said he was working on the videos and was having trouble finding a voice over and squeeze page designer. I told him I knew of a designer and I have sister-in-law who is an actress who could do great voice overs, but he stalled and stalled, and eventually he told me that he had gained some lucrative contacts and clients and that his video business was taking off.
I of course retained the rights to all the materials we had created so far, so I decided to do my own thing with them. I am good friends with a top-notch graphic designer and he agreed to do the artwork that would be required for the e-book and e-report art, the squeeze pages, the banners and anything else we would need to make these packages complete.
Thus, The Fortune-Niche Ones was complete.
